Is this a drop-off program?

Who is this program for?

Family Faith Formation is open to any family who wishes to participate in the sacramental life of the Church. Please register and attend!

During the age-specific breakout time:

- Parents and adults will meet in the school cafeteria.
- Children ages 12 months to 4 years old will be lovingly cared for in the nursery, located in the music room near the cafeteria.
- Infants (newborn to 11 months old) should remain with their parents.
- Children Kindergarten through 8th grade will go to designated classrooms in the school building for activities and lessons led by trained catechists.|
- Depending on registration numbers, some grades may be combined (e.g., 3rd & 4th, 5th & 6th, 7th & 8th) for an engaging and community-centered experience.
- High School Students will meet in the school library.

How does Family Faith Formation fit in with First Reconciliation, First Communion, and Confirmation?

The child will receive their Catechesis every week and learn about our faith. The sacramental preparation is more about spiritual formation and focuses specifically on preparing the child’s heart and mind to receive the Sacraments. This preparation happens in the home through a separate program.

- Decision Point Confirmation Sacramental Program

*Students must be enrolled in and attend a Catholic school or the Family Faith Formation program as part of their Sacramental preparation.

My kids attend Catholic school. Where do we fit in?

While Catholic school students are not required to attend Family Faith Formation as part of their sacramental preparation, Catholic school families at Our Lady of Sorrows are invited and encouraged to participate! Family Faith Formation is about building a strong, faith-filled community where families grow closer to Jesus and one another, supporting each other on their journey of faith.

Is there a fee for Family Faith Formation?

Yes, there is a flat family registration fee of $300. This helps cover the cost of materials and resources used throughout the year. Payment is due by Friday, September 5, 2025 and can be made through Flocknote by clicking HERE.

If your family is unable to pay the registration fee, we do have sponsorships available. Program expense is not intended to be a barrier to participation. Please reach out—we’re happy to help.
