Middle School Ministry

Creating fruitful encounters to help students become joyful missionary disciples of Jesus Christ through the Catholic Church!

Hello Middle School Families!

My name is Tori Polhill and I am the Director of Youth Discipleship here at Our Lady of Sorrows. We offer both a middle school and high school youth ministry opportunities! We accompany students through authentic, grace-filled encounters—so they grow as joyful missionary disciples of Jesus Christ, rooted in the heart of the Catholic Church. For our middle school students we have two options to gather each month! On the 1st Thursday of each month we will gather for small group discipleship focusing on scripture, prayer, and community building! These meetings will take place after school from 3:15pm-4:30pm in the youth room! Our OLS School students will meet in the lobby in school and be walked over to the Youth room!

On the 3rd Thursday of each month we will meet for community building, games, food and fun from 4:15pm-5:30pm in the Lower Level of the Church! These Thursdays will begin an hour later to allow plenty of time for our non

school students to arrive! Our OLS school students will still be walked over after school and can work on homework or studying until we begin at 4:30pm! Snacks and pizza(or similar) will be available! We would appreciate any

donation of snacks or $5 for pizza each month when possible!

If you have any questions or concerns please don’t hesitate to reach out to me at [email protected] or by calling the office at (248) 474-5720.

Free for all 6-12th grade boys and their father figures, Exercitus Mariae! (meaning “the Army of Mary) is a ministry created to counteract the way our society drives boys to question their individual value and role in society. Volunteer adult male parishioners lead lessons on the catechism and challenging physical drills to help the boys and their fathers build fortifications against the tricks of the enemy, strong male friendships, and leadership skills. Started by two Knights of Columbus, this program is gaining more buzz and momentum with every passing day. Come see what Exercitus Mariae can do for you!
